On Tuesday 10th February our class went to Winchester Science Centre (formerly known as Intech). When we arrived, we put our coats and lunchboxes on a shelf. After that, we sat down on a table which had been reserved for our class. We then listened to the rules carefully. After we finished listening to the rules we went upstairs to go to the planetarium. Inside the planetarium we learnt about space and watched a show called ‘Neighbourhood Earth’. It was amazing! One of the things we learnt was that every star forms a picture of something, for example, one picture could form a horse or a lion. After watching and learning about space, we went downstairs and experimented with the science equipment. Some of the equipment we used included the following:
The balancing act
The buzz table
The handshake mirror
The active wall.
After playing with the equipment downstairs
we went to the shelf where we had put our belongings and got our lunchboxes. We
then went to a table and had our lunch. When we had finished having our lunch
and talking to our friends we went upstairs and played with the equipment
upstairs.
My favourite piece of equipment was the handshake mirror because it
was really funny when we put our hand in the mirror.
One thing we learnt was
that the earth is always moving but you can’t feel it happening. It was finally
home time so we collected our belongings and got into our groups that we came in.
We then went in the minibuses and travelled back to school.
It was such a great day and I can’t
wait for next year.
